Tivoli is once again inviting dance schools to the Gardens this year, and you can look forward to both displays and competitions.
Throughout the afternoon, the Open Air Stage and the Pantomime Theatre will be the setting for dance displays by teams from the Danish Dance Schools and, true to tradition, the Tivoli Dancing Championships will take place on the Open Air Stage. Come along and watch the competition!
The Tivoli Dancing Championships were first held in the 1930s. After a break of a number of years, the competition was revived in 2006 – to the great delight of the many dance fans among Tivoli's visitors. In 2019, dancers will be competing in a range of disciplines from standard, Latin and disco duo to hip hop, swing and jitterbug.
There will naturally be plenty of opportunity to put on your dancing shoes and kick up your heels on the grass during the course of the day. And if that isn't enough for you, we recommend that you stay on for our Saturday Night Dance at 22.00, feat. Miriam Mandipiri, Bobo Moreno and Tivoli Late Night Orchestra.
