The Tivoli Youth Guard, the Music Corps of the Royal Life Guards and former Tivoli Youth Guards will celebrate the Tivoli Youth Guard's 175th birthday with a parade through Copenhagen and a large joint concert at the Open Air Stage in Tivoli.
The Tivoli Youth Guard is the world's oldest youth guard, and is famed for its parades in Tivoli with members wearing the iconic red jackets and bearskin hats. In 2019, it is 175 years since Tivoli's founder, Georg Carstensen, gave himself a guard at Tivoli's first birthday, and the Tivoli Youth Guard will be marking the event with various activities throughout the year.
Activities include this special parade, in which the "bear cubs" in the Tivoli Youth Guard will be accompanied by the "big bears" from the Music Corps of the Royal Life Guards, along with a host of former Tivoli Youth Guards!
Follow the parade through the city at 14:30 from the barracks of the Royal Life Guard in Gothersgade, or be at the Open Air Stage when Tivoli Youth Guards of all ages perform together with the Music Corps of the Royal Life Guards, many of whom were once in the Tivoli Youth Guard.
