The Russian National Orchestra is one of the best orchestras in the world, and its ambition is to combine the best from the Russian tradition with the best from the rest of the world – and thereby create an orchestra with a modern and colourful tone. Mikhail Pletnev formed the orchestra in 1990 – and for this concert will be accompanied by the Russian superviolinist Vadim Repin playing Bruch's violin concerto.

Two giants will be meeting on this Sunday afternoon: Sir András Schiff & Bach's The Well-tempered Clavier, Book 2. Schiff recorded The Well-tempered Clavier for the first time in 1986, and now – a good 25 years later – he has once again immersed himself in this essential work – and according to Schiff himself, the result is a more experienced and "pure" version.

The Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, the head conductor Toshiyuki Kamioka and a sparkling Danish cast will present a concert version of the spellbinding fairy-tale opera Hansel and Gretel, which was written by Engelbert Humperdinck at the beginning of the 1890s.

For 26-year-old Daniil Trifonov, music is about enjoying the moment – not 'just' playing the notes but 'recomposing' the music while you play. The result is an extremely intimate and intense style that has attracted attention from listeners and critics all over the world.
